Heathrow: Friend or Foe?

The Queen opened Heathrow Terminal 5 on Friday 14th March. The expansion of Heathrow seems to go on, with yet more plans such as the third runway and another terminal already being talked about. Spelthorne Labour Party has been listening to your views and concerns and will continue to do so.

We know that many of you work at or around the airport. We understand that the airport is important for the local economy and for the nation.

But we know that it brings dirt and noise and traffic. None of us want that.

Labour will only support expansion plans which benefit the local area.

Labour will demand that each project is carbon neutral and environmentally sound.

But above all, we will not let our standard of living be threatened by any development plan.

For us, it’s the people that matter.

We want you to let us know what you think about airport expansion, the environmental and economic issues.
